Our location for today’s wedding was up in Cambria, CA at a rustic, sea-side summer camp called Camp Ocean Pines. This wedding was one of my favorites. So much so that Kelly and I modeled our own upcoming nuptuals after this very wedding. The couple (Senta and Ernest) rented out the entire campground and invited their guests to a weekend getaway. Senta had worked there while growing up so it was a very special place to her. A personal connection to the ceremony site can be very important to a couple when making the decision on their wedding venue.

When photographing the details I tried to in incorporate my surroundings as much as possible to really capture the environment.

I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to photograph at the brand new Ritz Carleton that opened Downtown in LA Live. The structure is beautiful and such a presence in the La skyline. The Ritz-Carlon is also large enough to accommodate a 500+ guest count wedding like Diana and David’s and do it in style.

The wedding colors were black and yellow and they had excellent details. We played around with the yellow leaves they later used for a wishing tree for the guests at the reception.

The wedding was at Melody’s parents beautiful home in Beverly Hills. We started nice and early so we had the entire day. The bride got ready in a separate room from the groom and we kept them apart until their first meeting. Which gave us a nice amount of time to catch some really pretty set up photos of the bride before the wedding.
